I've recently started listening to podcasts. In case you've been living under a rock for the past several years, podcasts are like radio shows that you download to your MP3 player. Being the sharing type, I'm going to list a few of my favorites here. If they sound good to you, you can click on the podcast's name to go to their website. Escape Pod PodCastle Pseudopod These three podcasts are weekly short stories. Escape Pod specialized in Sci-Fi and speculative fiction, PodCastle specializes in fantasy (not just the swords and sorcery kind), and Pseudopod specializes in horror. Each story taked about a half an hour to listen to - perfect for my morning commute. Slice of Sci Fi Sci Fi Surplus These two are essentially geek talk shows. Imagine a small group of like-minded geeks talking about the latest news in sci-fi, video games, and other geekly topics. Yeah, they're that good. Car Talk Car Talk is a nationally syndicated radio show on PBS about cars. The hosts are brothers and mechanics, and people call in with their automotive troubles. I don't know how they do it, but they mange to make this interesting - this coming from somebody who couldn't point out the timing belt if his life depended on it. Ask A Ninja People e-mail their questions to the ninja. He answers them. You laugh. These are the cream of the crop so far. I'm currently subscribed to 32 different podcasts, so you can bet that I'll be blogging about some others as I deem them worthy.
